A Canva QR code can mean a QR made inside Canva or a QR that opens a Canva design. This generator shares an existing Canva design link; a compatible camera or QR scanner opens that destination. For a QR pointing to another website that you will place in a Canva layout, use our URL QR generator.
For a designer’s portfolio card, link to the project you want a client to see and label the card with the project name. Set the audience and permissions in Canva’s Share settings. The QR does not make a private design public. Test with the client’s intended access before distributing the card.

Set the design’s sharing permissions in Canva, then use its full canva.com address here. If Canva supplies a canva.link short URL, you can use our URL QR generator with that complete link. Do not change URL suffixes to try to grant viewing or editing access.

In Canva’s editor, open Elements and search for QR code. Choose Create static or Create dynamic, enter the destination URL, customise the code and save or generate it. Canva also offers a static QR app under Apps. Its QR generator guide describes both options. To use a QR made here in a Canva layout, download the image and upload it to your design.
The printed pattern has no timer, but the linked content and any redirect service must remain available. Canva offers both static and dynamic QR codes. A saved connected QR made here lets you change its destination, but it cannot restore a deleted design or bypass changed permissions. Test older printed material before reusing it.

Yes. Choose the specific design and configure its sharing access in Canva before creating the QR. Use the actual share address or the design’s full canva.com URL. The reader receives the access Canva allows; adding /view or /edit yourself does not grant permissions. Check the result from the intended recipient’s account.
Use a Canva QR when the reader needs the design on Canva with its chosen viewing, commenting or editing access. Use a PDF QR when you want to share an uploaded document export instead. A PDF is not automatically updated when you edit the original Canva design; replace the uploaded document when you need a newer version.
You can create QR codes within the free creation limits. A seven-day trial starts with the first QR code or Smart Link created in your personal account or Workspace; the two have separate allowances and trials. After the trial, Premium is needed to keep connected destinations and their paid features active. Direct QR types, such as plain text or WiFi, retain their encoded data independently of the redirect service. Reaching a creation limit prevents additional creation; it does not erase the data in an already printed direct QR code.
If your Canva plan offers it, open Share and choose Template link, then create and copy that link. Use the actual generated address rather than inventing a /template URL. Canva’s template-sharing guide explains eligibility and access restrictions. Test that an intended recipient can use the template before printing the QR.
Canva now creates short sharing links automatically, including canva.link addresses; these keep the item’s existing access settings. See Canva’s short-link guide. If this Canva-specific field does not accept the short address, paste it unchanged into the URL QR generator. Test that it opens the correct design.
